After the details of an account are changed, a message is sent from the Automaton to the registrar’s notification address with the subject line “Account Details Change Notification”. This message indicates what account fields have changed and it is PGP-signed to allow the receiver to verify its authenticity.
The format for the body of the message is as follows:

Data Quality workflow process
There are a number of processes at Nominet that are applied to domain names in order to result in an update of registrant details:
- When the registrant name is found to be incorrect
- When the registrant is a dissolved company
- When the registrant’s address is found to have incorrect data
Channel Partner & Self-Managed tags
When such a process is initiated on a domain name, we notify both the registrar and administrative email contact. If the incorrect details are not corrected, then 30 days later the domain name is suspended.
At the time of suspension a ‘Domains Suspended Notification’ is sent.
Accredited Channel Partner tags
Non-validated data submitted through Accredited Channel Partner tags and manually classified as most likely to be inaccurate, will trigger a notification to be sent to the registrar. They will follow the data validation process.
We will not delete domain names suspended for poor quality. They can either be renewed through the normal process or will be deleted in the usual way approximately 90 days after expiry.
An example of the notification email is shown below.
Subject: DQ Workflow process commenced notification The following message was sent from the Automaton: THIS IS AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE. With reference to Account details: *account-id: *account-name: Domain name(s): *key: Data Quality If we do not receive an update by , the account and all domain names held on it will be suspended. On cancellation, domain names are made available for re-registration on a first-registered, first-served basis.
