Registry systems migration & Registrant name update window

Registry systems migration

As previously announced, on Sunday 25 November 2012 we will be migrating our registry systems to our new data centres.  Starting at 09:00 GMT there will be a systems outage lasting up to twelve hours whilst this essential work is carried out.  During this time our registration systems and Online Services will be unavailable.  The Automaton will not process email requests but they will be received and queued for processing when it restarts.

To ensure that our systems are correctly synchronised and to reduce load on our systems, we will not be releasing expired domains during the migration.  We will restart the domain release process at 09:00 GMT on Monday 26 November 2012.

Please be aware that the Business Intelligence service may be unavailable for a few hours after the registry system outage has completed to allow for the migration of reporting data.

Registrant name update window

Following on from the success of the trial data update window that we ran earlier in the year we will be running a second registrant name update window next year.  The window for registrant name corrections will open on 12 February 2013 and will run for six months.  While the window is open it will be possible for registrars to update/correct the registrant name for records that we have not been able to validate through our registration systems.

Further details of this facility are can be viewed on our Trial Data Update page.

Confirmation of this release will be made nearer the time.
