Applying to become a gTLD registrar

Nominet can directly supply gTLD domain names only to ICANN-accredited registrars who have signed up to ICANN’s 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement. If you are not ICANN-accredited you can buy gTLD domain names from an ICANN-accredited registrar.

Applying to Nominet

Information you need to supply in your Nominet application:

  • Your IANA ID and your full, matching registrar name
  • Your Trading URL
  • Your Registrar WHOIS URL
  • gTLD administrative and billing contacts for your account
  • gTLD abuse and notification contacts for your account
  • EPP credentials – choosing your EPP login name
  • TMCH registration (required for the sunrise and claims phases)

When it receives your application, Nominet checks that you are ICANN-accredited and have signed ICANN’s 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement.

When your application is approved, Nominet’s Customer Services team will contact you with details of how to interact with its systems.
